How to turn on voice messages
Voice messages are off until you turn them on, in Settings under Behaviour.
With them on, your pay card offers a supporter the choice of recording instead of typing. Up to fifteen seconds.
What they get
A record button, a stop, and a chance to play it back and try again before they send. The recording goes up when they press I have paid.
What you get
The recording appears on the pending row with the rest of the claim. You listen before you approve, exactly as you read a written message before you approve.
Where it plays
On your wall, as a small player under their name. Anybody reading your page can play it.
Which phones can do it
Recording works in Chrome on Android and Safari on iPhone, which covers almost everybody. A browser that cannot record simply does not show the option, and the message box is there as it always was.
Turning it off
The same switch. Recordings already approved stay on your page. Turn the switch back on and the option returns for new supporters.
