How it works

How a UPI support page works. Four taps for them, one for you.

A supporter never makes an account, never enters a card, and never leaves their own UPI app. You get a message to read and a button to press.

  1. 1

    They pick an amount

Three amounts and a box for anything else, plus a message.

  2. 2

    Kulhad shows a QR

The reference code is already in the payment note.

  3. 3

They pay and tap "I’ve paid"

Money moves from their bank to yours. Nothing passes through us.

  4. 4

    You check and approve

Match the amount and the code in your bank app, then publish the message.

What a support page actually is

One web address that holds your UPI ID, the amounts you chose, and the messages people leave when they send something. Nothing else.

  • You give out the link, or you print the QR and tape it up.
  • Supporters never sign up for anything, and never install an app of ours.
  • You are never waiting on us to pass money along, because it went from their bank to yours.

Where your money goes

From their bank to yours. We are not in between.

Kulhad shows the page and the QR code. The payment itself happens inside their UPI app, bank to bank, exactly the way it works when they pay a shop.

Kulhad sits outside this line

We show the page and the reference code. We hold nothing, and we cannot see your account.

  1. Their UPI app

They scan the QR and pay

  2. Their bank

    Sends the money over UPI

  3. Your bank

It arrives, and it is already yours

What Kulhad can see

  • The page you built, and the amounts you chose
  • The message and name a supporter typed on your page
  • The reference code we generated for that message

What Kulhad cannot see

  • Your bank account, your balance or your statements
  • Whether a payment actually arrived
  • Any card number, because there is never a card

The trade

Why there is no payment gateway in this

A gateway sits between your supporter's bank and yours. It takes a fee for standing there, and it holds the money for a day or three on the way past. UPI already moves money bank to bank on its own, so a tip does not need one at all. That is why Kulhad can charge nothing on what you receive, and it is also why we cannot tell you a payment arrived: we were never a party to it.

  • A platform that could tell you the money landed is one the money passed through first.
  • Which means holding it, taking a cut, and a wait at the end of it.
  • So you match the code in your bank app and press approve. That is the whole cost.

What to look for in your bank app

When a supporter pays, your bank sends you its usual message. Two things in it have to match the claim on your pending list: the amount, and the four-character reference code that we put in the payment note.

Is there a limit on what someone can send you?

Yes, and it belongs to the banks rather than to us. The one that catches people out is the first payment: many apps hold a supporter to a few thousand rupees the first time they pay a UPI ID they have never paid before, so a large first attempt can be refused for a reason that has nothing to do with your page.

  • ₹1,00,000

a day on most UPI apps, across all of their payments

  • about ₹5,000

the first 24 hours, paying a UPI ID they have never paid before

  • the next day

the full amount goes through, with no first-time cap left on it

Questions about the flow

How do I receive money from fans in India?

Put your UPI ID on a page, share the link or print the QR, and they pay you from their own UPI app. The money goes from their bank to yours. There is no gateway, no card, and nothing for you to claim afterwards.

Do supporters need an account?

No. No account, no app of ours, no card. They open your page, pick an amount, and pay from whichever UPI app they already have. A name and an email are both optional, and leaving them blank is fully anonymous.

What is the difference between UPI Collect and UPI Intent?

A collect request pulls money from the payer once they approve it. An intent link opens their own app with your details filled in, and they push the money. Kulhad only ever uses intent, and collect is being retired.

Why can a supporter not send more than ₹2,000 the first time?

Several UPI apps hold a first payment to a new UPI ID down for the first 24 hours, as a fraud control. It is a limit their app sets, not one your page sets. A smaller amount goes through now, and the full amount goes through the next day.

That is the whole flow. Now build the page it runs on.

Your name, one UPI ID, and the QR is ready to print. No card, and nothing to install.
