What is the announcement banner?

The banner is a single line in a coloured band above everything else on your page. It is in Settings under Profile.

Writing one

Type the line and save. It is short on purpose, around eighty characters, so it stays one line on a phone.

Use it for something that is true this week and not next. "Away till the 20th, messages will be slow." "Collecting for the school roof till Diwali." "New EP is up."

Making it stop

There are two ways.

• Set a date in Show it until. The banner disappears on its own after that date and you do not have to remember.
• Leave the date empty and it stays up until you clear the text.

The date is the better habit. A banner about last month's show, still up, is worse than no banner.

The colour

Six colours on every plan. Premium adds a seventh you set yourself, so the banner can match whatever else you have made.

Where it does not show

It is on your page and on your goal pages. It is not on the embeds you put on somebody else's website, because a band across the top of their page is not yours to put there.
