How to change your page name

Last updated September 3, 2026

Settings, then Account. Type a new name and save. The rules are the same as when you claimed it: 3 to 30 characters, lower case letters, numbers and single hyphens.

What breaks immediately

The old address stops working. There is no redirect from it.

That means everything below now points at nothing:

  • The link in every bio you have ever put it in.
  • Any QR code, poster, standee or counter card already printed.
  • Every embed snippet pasted on a website.
  • Links in old posts and video descriptions.

What survives

Your supports, your wall, your goals, your settings and your spreadsheet. They belong to the account rather than to the name.

Receipt links your supporters are holding keep working, because they are built on the support rather than on your page name.

Before you do it

Make a list of everywhere the old address is. Change the important ones the same day. Reprint anything physical, or accept that it is dead.

If you are on a custom domain

You cannot change your page name while a domain is live. Your page sits at the root of your own domain, and the two settings would disagree about where it is. Disconnect the domain, change the name, connect the domain again.

Which name to pick

Anything you would be happy to say out loud and have somebody type correctly the first time. That rules out most puns and all numbers.
