Normal QR or Counter QR: which one to use

The Share screen offers two QR codes under Which QR. They are different things and it is worth knowing which you have printed.

Normal

Scanning it opens your Kulhad page.

Any phone camera reads it. No UPI app needed. Whoever scans it lands on your page, picks an amount, can leave a message, and their payment carries a four character code you can match in your bank.

This is the one for a poster, a slide, a business card, a video, anywhere the person has a moment to read.

Counter

Scanning it pays your UPI ID straight away, with no amount and no message.

It is for a stall, a shop counter, a live spot: somewhere a queue is waiting and nobody is going to fill in a form. Their app opens with your ID in it and they type an amount.

Those supports arrive with no message and no code, so you match them in your bank by the amount and the time rather than by a code.

Choosing Counter turns the setting on for your account, which is why it says so when you pick it.

Downloading

PNG for a screen, SVG for anything going to a printer. SVG stays sharp at any size.

Printing either one

• 2.5cm across or larger. Bigger for a shutter or a poster people scan from two metres away.
• Leave clear white space on all four sides. A code with no quiet border often cannot be found at all.
• Black on white. A camera reads contrast before it reads shape.
• Matte paper. Glossy and lamination throw glare under a shop light, which is the usual reason a code on a counter has to be scanned three times.
